Para-Nordic Learn to Ski Day (Callaghan Valley)

In the photo below 2010 Paralympian Lou Gibson, the middle sit-skier, recounts his time at Whistler Olympic Park to several paraplegic athletes.  Lou trained long and hard to represent Canada at the 2010 Paralympic Games and was happy to take several retired wheelchair basketball athletes out on the trails and teach them the ropes.

If you would like to host a Para-Nordic Learn to Ski Day at your ski area please contact Cross Country BC (adcoord@crosscountybc.ca) for information on how to arrange it.  BC Para-Nordic Team Coach Tony Chin can come out to train your coaches and volunteers and help lead a ski clinic for persons with a physical disability (paraplegic, amputee, blind/visually impaired, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis) take their first cross country ski.
