2022 CCBC B-Tour
Events: Super Tour
Locations: Eastern USA
Dates: January 26 – February 7, 2022 (tentative)
Number of athletes to be selected: up to 10 (5 men, 5 women)
Selection Criteria:
1. Eligible athletes must meet the age requirements to compete in the 2023 World Junior Championships or 2023 World U23 Championships.
2. Eligible athletes must be current members of Cross Country BC in good standing with the Association.
3. Eligible athletes must be current members of the 2021-22 BC Ski Team or BC Development Squad, with BC Ski Team athletes having preference.
4. Eligible athletes must meet USA Covid-19 vaccination requirements for entering that country.
5. Athletes who were Sport Canada carded in 2020-21 and/or 2021-22 automatically qualify.
6. Athletes who qualified for the 2021 Canadian World Junior or World U23 Championship Teams automatically qualify.
7. The following Trial races will be used to fill the remaining positions:
Western Canada Cup #1, Vernon, Dec. 4, 2021 (FT Sprint)
Western Canada Cup #2, Vernon, Dec. 5, 2021 (CT Interval Start)
Western Canada Cup #3, Rossland, Dec. 11, 2021 (CT Sprint)
Western Canada Cup #4, Rossland, Dec. 12, 2021 (FT Mass Start)
7.1 Athletes will be selected using the following:
7.1.1 The top eligible athlete in each Trial race will receive 100 points. Athletes will then be ranked based on their percentage of time off the leader.
7.1.2 For sprint races the finish times from both the Qualification Round and the Heats will be used.
7.1.3 ‘Force majeure’ will be considered in special circumstances.
8. Athletes who accept their nomination must travel with and attend the CCBC B-Tour as part of the BC Ski Team.
9. Athletes who qualify for the 2022 World Junior/U23 Ski Championships or Nordic Canada’s 2022 U.S.A. U20 B-Tour are not eligible for this trip.
