CALEDONIA NORDIC SKI CLUB (Prince George)
Introducing our new Head Coach and General Manager!
We're delighted to introduce Graeme Moore as our new Head Coach. Graeme was previously the head coach for the Red Deer Nordic Ski Team and was also the coach for the Red Deer College Ski Team. Graeme has been involved in coaching in Alberta since 2005 and in 2013 was named as Cross Country Alberta Ski Coach of the Year. Several of the athletes Graeme has coached have been selected for the Alberta Ski Team and have competed at the national level (Canada Winter Games, XC Ski Nationals). Graeme has a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Augustana University College (of which he also competed for as a university ski team athlete). He has an extensive background in outdoor adventure and leadership activities. He's been very active with cross country Alberta being involved in delivering camps, helping to coach provincial teams, etc. In addition to his passions for XC skiing and outdoor activities, Graeme is also an accomplished Celtic musician (mandolin and violin), a certified canoe instructor and a journeyman welder.
We're equally delighted to welcome Cara Moore as our new General Manager (the same last name is not a coincidence; Cara and Graeme are married and are coming to us as an awesome package of talent). Cara has a Bachelors degree in Applied Ecotourism and Outdoor leadership and had developed very extensive administrative experience with a vibrant non-profit organization in Red Deer. Like Graeme, Cara also has an extensive background in outdoor oriented leadership and also nature interpretation and outdoor oriented retail experience. She has also been the volunteer communication and website coordinator for the Red Deers Nordics and is a certified canoe instructor and certified professional nature interpreter.
Graeme and Cara have two young children, Scott and Piper. and a big dog and are extremely excited to make Prince George their new home, and have our club as their new extended family.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Graeme and Cara!
