2025 FIS World Junior/U23 Championships
Bergamo-Schilpario, Italy
February 3 – 9, 2025
January 27-28 – Seefeld, Austria
After a snowy second day in Seefeld (Austria), we awoke on the third day to a very welcome sunny view. Another lovely breakfast down the hatch, and we were in the vans for a morning ski. While some of us did intervals to help get adjusted to the time change and prepared for the Championships, others went on an easy exploration ski in the alps. With more trails than we knew what to do with, it would have been easy to spend all day on skis. It has also been super cool to train on the World Championship competition courses where many of our idols had competed six years prior. After a lunch, some of the boys tried out the hotel sauna before heading into town. With Seefeld being a cool little mountain town, there was loads to do and see. After purchasing some candy, we headed back for yet another delicious dinner and some games.
On Tuesday we were pretty excited to wake up to a mountain of powder coming down. We headed over to the ski trails as quickly as we could. We spent most of our morning ski on the alpine runs, jumping and crashing as much as possible. We left the ski area soaked and disheveled, but with our spirits at an all-time high. After a quick shower and lunch, the U20’s hopped on the train for the 30-minute ride into Innsbruck. We then spent the afternoon exploring the city. We saw old statues, cool bakeries and amazing architecture, and we met some nice people. In the evening some of us hit the sauna, while others relaxed or did school work. After the amazing few days we have had so far, it’s safe to say we are fired up for the next few days.
