The Nordiq Canada Coaching License registration is now open.
All coaches need a coaching license if they perform typical coaching or instruction tasks with a Cross Country BC club, including delivering or helping to deliver practices with any age group. Only coaches who meet minimum mandatory coaching qualifications and have a valid Coaching Licence will benefit from our sport’s liability insurance program while coaching with a Cross Country BC ski club.
The license is renewable annually and is valid from July 1 to June 30. You must already be a club member to sign up for a Coaching License. With coaches running summer programs and camps, it is a priority that they register ASAP.

As you’ll recall, Nordiq Canada has mandated that all coaches must have their “SafeSport Training module” and their “Understanding Rule of Two module” completed for their Coaching License. When registering you will be asked if you have already done the modules or that you are planning to complete them within the next 30 days. Coaches must check-off their compliance on this.
In addition, the registration includes the completion of the Making Ethical Decisions (MED) module/evaluation. There is a change this year and the MED Training & Evaluation are now a separate online module in the multi-sport drop-down menu of the eLearning section of the Locker. Again, coaches must check-off their compliance that they’ve completed their MED. Therefore, new coaches must also complete the MED online module for their Coaching License. Those who have already completed their MED training & evaluation in the past do not need to do anything to update for this season.
The Registration Confirmation List can be found HERE - it will show a club coordinator whom from their club has registered.
Clubs can check their coaches’ compliance by using the Coach’s NCCP # (Coach #) and you can do a public search HERE. This will bring up their transcript for you to check. The below is a screenshot from a coach’s transcript that shows the bare minimum that should be on a coaches’ transcript in the bottom section under “Multi-Sport”. It should show their Safe Sport Training, Understanding Rule of Two and in the “Evaluations” section, Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation (once again, these should be present for all active coaches as these are requirements for the Nordiq Canada Coach License.)
