Down In the Kootenays......

The Fernie Nordic Society (594 points) is the 2015-16 Teck Kootenay Cup Series club aggregate champion for the second year in a row.  Fernie narrowly beat out the Black Jack Cross Country Ski Club (Rossland) which had accumulated 567 points.  The race for third position was also close with Kimberley Nordic Ski Club (471) edging out the Nelson Nordic Ski Club (441 points).

All clubs put in a solid effort for the most successful Teck Kootenay Cup Series to date.

There were a record 778 race starts in the six-race series.

On the Coast.....

The 2015-16 club aggregate champion for the Teck Coast Cup Series is once again the Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club (North Vancouver).  Hollyburn, with 812 points, just squeaked ahead of the Strathcona Nordic Ski Club (Courtenay) with 807 points. Rounding out the top four in the region are the Sea to Sky Nordic Ski Club (Squamish - 220) and Whistler Nordic Ski Club (212).

Teck Coast Cup #3 (hosted by the Spud Valley Nordic Ski Club) again had the most entries of any regional cup in the province with 258 skiers registered. 

There were a record 895 race starts in the five-race series, the highest number of any region.

Up North......

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club of Prince George accumulated 626 points to beat out the Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club of Smithers (567 points) and win the 2015-16 Teck Northern Cup Series. This is the first time that the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club has won this title.  The happy winning team is holding their new pennant in the photo below.

In the Okanagan.......

The Larch Hills Nordic Society (Salmon Arm) led the Teck Okanagan Cup Series once again by accumulating 579 points in just two races. The Telemark Nordic Club (Kelowna) was the runner up with 337 points in what ended up being a much closer contest than last year.

In Summary.....

There were 2541 regional cup race starts in 2015/16 compared to 2253 in 2014/15 and 1728 in 2013/14.
