100 Mile Nordics Receive Grant to Install State-of-the-art Lighting System

News Release: attached

The 100 Mile Nordic Ski Society is pleased to announce funding from the Province of British Columbia “ BC Rural Dividends Special Circumstances” provision to install a new underground LED lighting system on their existing cross country ski trails (99 Mile Ski Trails).

The club will be installing the new system on a four kilometer gentle rolling loop that skiers of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

The lighting project started with an engineered plan to reduce the maintenance and energy costs associated with the existing 30 year old system.  The new project includes steel poles, underground wiring and energy efficient LED bulbs.  Work on site will begin next spring. This is a culmination of many years of work in improving their trail system.

The 100 Mile Nordic Ski Society is thankful for the rural dividend funding for replacing and upgrading the lighting system for their ski trails.
