2011-12 CCBC Trip Selection CriteriaNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPSSite: Mt Ste Anne, Quebec Selection Criteria: An athlete must demonstrate the ability to finish in the top three in their respective category at the 2012 National Championships to be selected. Selection will be based on the following: 1. Athletes selected to the 2012 U-23 World Championship team automatically qualify unless they are currently attending a NDC, in which case they are not eligible. 2. Athletes selected to the 2012 World Junior Championship team automatically qualify unless they are currently attending a NDC, in which case they are not eligible. 3. The following age classes - U23 Men/Women (1989, 1990, 1991), Juvenile Boy (1996), Junior Boy (1994, 1995), Junior Men (1992, 1993), Juvenile Girl (1996, 1997), Junior Girl (1994, 1995), Junior Women (1992, 1993). 4. The Athlete Development Committee will select 80% of the Team using the results of the BC Cup races and comparing each category against the national CPL and CSL. The athletes qualifying by criteria #1 & 2 are a part of this 80%. 5. The remaining 20% will be filled in at the discretion of the Athlete Development Committee, and may include “force majeure”, CPL points, CSL points, past performances, etc. 6. Selected athletes must be current members of Cross Country BC in good standing with the Association. 7. Selected athletes must travel to the National Championships as part of the BC Ski Team in order to receive a financial subsidy. 8. If a selection race is cancelled due to cold weather or lack of snow, that race will be substituted with a similar type of event from the 2012 Western Canadian Championships.
