2015 National Championships Trip Selection Criteria

Number of athletes to be selected: up to 12 
Selection races: NorAm (Whistler); BC Cup #1; BC Cup #2; Western Canadian Championships

Selection Criteria:

An athlete must demonstrate the ability to finish in the top three in their respective category at the 2015 National Championships to be selected. Selection will be based on the following:

1. Athletes selected to the 2015 U-23 World Championship team automatically qualify unless they are currently attending a NDC (or the CVTC), in which case they are not eligible.

2. Athletes selected to the 2015 World Junior Championship team automatically qualify unless they are currently attending a NDC (or the CVTC), in which case they are not eligible.

3. The following age classes - U23 Men/Women (1992, 1993, 1994), Juvenile Boy (1999, 2000), Junior Boy (1997, 1998), Junior Men (1995, 1996), Juvenile Girl (1999, 2000), Junior Girl (1997, 1998), Junior Women (1995, 1996).

4. The Athlete Development Committee selecting 75% of the Team using the results of BC Cup races #1 an# 2,  the December 20-21st NorAm (Whistler), and the Western Canadian Championships. An athlete must be the first, second or third place BC finisher in an eligible age category to be considered. CPL and CSL lists developed from the four selection events will be used to compare athletes in different categories. Athletes qualifying by criteria #1 & 2 are included in the 75%.

5. The remaining 25% will be filled in at the discretion of the Athlete Development Committee, and may include “force majeure”, CPL points, CSL points, past performances, etc.

6. The athlete is a current member of Cross Country BC in good standing with the Association.

7. Athletes that accept their nomination must travel to and attend the National Championships as part of the BC Ski Team.
