2022 BC Winter Games – INDIGENOUS PARTICIPATION PROGRAM

Cross Country BC in partnership with the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) and the BC Games Society will be offering an Indigenous participation initiative for the 2022 BC Winter Games (BCWG) in Vernon.  This program was first introduced at the BCWG held at Fort St. John in 2020. 

Up to eight athletes, two coaches and two officials with Indigenous ancestry will be eligible to attend.  These spots are in addition to the number of athletes and coaches that are permitted to attend the Games in Cross Country’s previous technical package.  To view Cross Country BC’s 2022 BCWG Technical Guidelines click here.

This is a strategic initiative by sport sector partners to have more purposeful sport development pathways for participants of Indigenous descent.
