CCBC Club Visitation / Talent Squad Athletes (Williams Lake Cross Country Ski Club)

CCBC Assistant Coach Graham Maclean (Golden, BC) stopped by Williams Lake on August 17th on his way home from coaching at two Northern BC Dryland Training Camps (Smithers and Prince George). Club coach Beverly Rooke reported that Graham coached both classic and skate ski sessions and gave some great technique pointers. He was also able to motivate the girls (Anika and Nadia) to keep working on training fundamentals. In addition he shared information on training schedule development with the club coach to help them with the development of their season plan in an uncertain Covid-19 environment.

 “I really appreciated this unique opportunity to have a provincial coach visit our community to help the athletes in the smaller clubs feel supported by CCBC. Provincial Coach Chris Manhard extended similar support and visited Williams Lake last year and these visits do help to motivate both the athletes and the coaches!”.  Beverly Rooke
