Exciting Announcement: Kal Tire sponsorship to benefit all members!
Thanks to the great work of our clubs this past year, Kal Tire is renewing their sponsorship of the Skill Development Program (SDP) in BC! In addition, ALL our members will benefit from an exclusive $100 coupon for new tires.
This partnership is a great fit: Kal Tire is a born & bred BC company (started in Vernon in 1953), is very community minded, has stores in just about every club location, and as we know, cross country skiers put on more miles and in harsher winter driving conditions than most.
Kal Tire was so impressed by our ski community that they have increased their support, and, supplemented with a grant that Cross Country BC was able to secure, funds will be passed thru to our clubs to create/upgrade ski playgrounds and related equipment. The aim is to make our sport more fun and engaging for kids, while instilling physical literacy and fundamental sport skills. Ultimately, the objective is to get more kids into our favourite sport and keep them engaged longer. This past winter saw RECORD enrollment in SDP, and we fully expect another record this coming winter! (Of course, that also means we’ll need to recruit a record number of volunteer coaches. See here for upcoming coach workshops across BC.)
In addition, all club members will receive an exclusive Kal Tire coupon for a $100 discount on new winter or all-weather tires. Watch for it in our upcoming annual magazine in early September, or simply use the e-version below/attached. The coupon is valid from Aug 15 to Sep 30, just in time for the Oct 1 BC highways deadline.
Be sure to use the coupon when you buy tires to help us validate the sponsorship, and please do feel free to forward it to your fellow club members via email, newsletter, and social media. (We hope to continue to impress Kal Tire in order to build a long-term partnership. With more than 18,500 members across BC, more than 2,500 kids in the Skill Development Program, and countless amazing volunteers, I’m confident we can do just that!)
