Joe Davies (Pemberton, BC) Wins 10km FT Competition at NCAA Championships in Lake Placid

Joe Davies, a long-time member of the Whistler Nordic Ski Club, won the NCAA Championships at Lake Placid, New York on Thursday.  Joe, who grew up in Pemberton, dominated the 10 km free technique event to win by 25 seconds.  For more information visit: https://fasterskier.com/2023/03/joe-davies-and-novie-mccabe-win-ncaa-championships-in-lake-placid-freestyle-race/out                                         

A former member of the BC Ski Team and Canadian National Ski Team, Joe, who is a dual UK/Canadian citizen, opted to ski for Great Britain this past season.  He has since competed successfully in FIS World Cup races, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and the FIS World U23 Championships (held in Whistler, BC).  His top results included a 13th placing (10km, free technique) and a 15th placing (20km, classic technique) – the top Canadian results on both occasions - in the World U23 Championships.
