Selection Criteria: 2014-2015 Canadian Sport Centre-Pacific Targeted Athletes - Cross Country Skiing

CANADIAN DEVELOPMENT – LEVEL 1

General Criteria:

-       must compete on the senior national team in eligible events, who do not receive Sport Canada Athlete Assistance program funding, or

-       must be on stream to make national senior or Senior Development Team in eligible events within one year as verified by Cross Country Canada

-       must be coached by a personal coach with minimum NCCP Level 3 certification (old system) or NCCP Comp-Int  trained (new system) in cross country skiing

Specific Criteria:

-       must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC club

-       must be a current CCC Racing Licence holder

-       must have competed in last year’s World U23 Championships or

-       Male – 95 IPL pts (sprint or distance)

-       Female – 92 IPL pts (sprint or distance)

CANADIAN DEVELOPMENT – LEVEL 1A

General Criteria:

-       must be targeted as a “hot prospect” to be selected to the national senior development  team in eligible events within two to three years as verified by Cross Country Canada

-       must be coached by a personal coach with minimum NCCP Level 3 certification (old system or NCCP Comp-Int trained (new system) in cross country skiing

Specific Criteria:

-       minimum age must be last year junior unless the athlete has a top 8 performance at World Junior Championships)

-       must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC club

-       must be a current CCC Racing Licence holder

-       Male – 92 IPL pts (sprint or distance)

-       Female – 89 IPL pts (sprint or distance)

PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT - LEVEL 2

General Criteria:

-       must be a provincial elite athlete who is tracking towards Level 1 according to Cross Country Canada’s development pathway (LTAD)

-       must have competed at the 2014 National Championships

-       must have consistently performed within top 20% at national-level competitions

-       must be coached by a personal coach with minimum NCCP Level 3 certification (old system or NCCP Comp-Int trained (new system) in cross country skiing

Specific Criteria:

-       must have achieved a minimum 80 points on the IPL (males/females, both distance and sprint lists

-       must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC club

-       must be a current CCC Racing Licence holder

PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT - LEVEL 3

General Criteria:

-       must be a provincial elite athlete who is tracking towards Level 2 according to Cross Country Canada’s development pathway (LTAD)

-       must have competed at the 2014 National Championships and/or BC Championships

-       must have consistently performed within top 30% at national-level competitions

-       must be coached by a personal coach with minimum NCCP Level 3 certification (old system or NCCP Comp-Int trained (new system) in cross country skiing

Specific Criteria:

-       must follow an annual training program requiring a minimum 300 hrs training / competition

-       must have a minimum 70 points on the IPL (males/females, both distance and sprint lists

 

2012-2013 Canadian Sport Centre Pacific Targeted Athlete Selection Criteria - Cross Country Skiing, Para

PROVINICAL ELITE LEVEL 1

General Criteria

·         Must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC Club

·         Must be on stream to make national senior team in one year as verified by Cross Country Canada

·         Be following an annual training and competition program designed by coaches that have appropriate NCCP qualifications (minimum Level 2 (old) or NCCP CCI-L2T trained (new))

·         Must be a current CCC Racing License holder.

Specific Criteria (all of the following):

·         a current member of the following Cross Country Canada Programs: Para-Nordic World Cup Team or Para-Nordic Development Team;

·         have participated in an IPC World Cup the previous season.

PROVINCIAL ELITE LEVEL 1a

General Criteria

·         Must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC Club

·         Must be on stream to make national senior team in 2-3 year as verified by Cross Country Canada

·         Be following an annual training and competition program designed by coaches that have appropriate NCCP qualifications (minimum Level 2 (old) or NCCP CCI-L2T trained (new))

·         Must be a current CCC Racing License holder

Specific Criteria (all of the following):

·         a current member of the following Cross Country Canada Programs: Para-Nordic World Cup Team or Para-Nordic Development Team;

·         have participated in an IPC World Cup the previous season.

PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT LEVEL 2

General Criteria

·         Must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC Club

·         Be following an annual training and competition program designed by coaches that have appropriate NCCP qualifications (minimum Level 2 (old) or NCCP CCI-L2T trained (new))

·         Must be a current CCC Racing License holder

·         Must be tracking towards Level 1/1a according to paranordic’s athlete development pathway

Specific Criteria (all of the following):

·         Trains a minimum of 300 sport-specific hours per year;

·         Have participated in the national championships the previous season;

·         Is a member of the BC ParaNordic Squad.

PROVINCIAL DEVELOPMENT LEVEL 3

General Criteria

·         Must be a current, paid up member of a Cross Country BC Club

·         Be following an annual training and competition program designed by coaches that have appropriate NCCP qualifications (minimum Level 2 (old) or NCCP CCI-L2T trained (new))

·         Must be a current CCC Racing License holder

·         Must be tracking towards Level 2 according to paranordic’s athlete development pathway

Specific Criteria:

·         Have participated in a minimum of two (separate weekends) CCC sanctioned races the previous season.
