It’s ski season and we are now registering participants with the Skiing is Believing Para Nordic program for the 2023-24 season.

Skiing is Believing events at Whistler Olympic Park (WOP) will be held on:

  • Saturday, January 13
  • Sunday, February 18
  • Saturday, March 16

There will be additional opportunities for participants to ski at both WOP and Cypress Mountain Nordic Ski area between Skiing is Believing dates.

What is Skiing is Believing (SIB)?

Skiing is Believing is a FREE full day program for people with physical disabilities to learn how to Nordic ski with support from volunteers and coaches. Events take place at Whistler Olympic Park and at Cypress Mountain over the course of the ski season. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the snow, build skills, and meet new friends. These events are open to all skill levels, whether you are a beginner who wants to try skiing for the first time or an experienced skier who wants to improve your technique.

Some participants take up the sport in a serious way, continuing on to become competitive athletes. Last season, one of our skiers made the Canadian Paralympic Development team, an important step toward participation in national and international competition.
