Technical Delegate & Technical Advisor Qualification Policy

Divisional Technical Delegate (TD)

To qualify as a Divisional TD an individual must:
·           meet the prerequisite requirements of the Level 3 Officials Course (be recommended by his/her division; have performed at least two different “major official” duties and at least three different “secondary official” duties at BC Cup or national     championships (or equivalent) level events; hold Level 2 officials certification),
·           complete a Level 3 Officials Course,
·           complete one (1) provincial apprenticeship TD assignment,
·           be an active skier, able to ski courses in both techniques and in a reasonable timeframe in order to inspect and assess the quality of the course preparation and tracksetting,
·           be familiar with the CCC and FIS rule book and make appropriate rule interpretations as they apply to provincial level competitions,
·           be able to provide leadership to the Jury, and
·           be able to provide a risk management assessment for a race site, and if needed, develop an effective Risk Management plan.

A Divisional TD can oversee BC Cup Series competitions (Tier 2), nationally sanctioned ‘Tier 2’ Points Races, the BC Winter Games, the BC Midget Championships or provincially sanctioned loppets.

Technical Advisor (TA) 

To qualify as a TA an individual must:
·            have performed at least two different “major official” duties and three different “secondary official” duties at a BC Cup, Midget Championships or BC Winter Games competition,  
·            complete a Level 2 Officials Course,
·            complete one (1) provincial apprenticeship TA assignment under the leadership of an experienced TD,
·            be familiar with the CCC rule book and make appropriate rule interpretations as they apply to provincial level competitions,
·            be able to provide leadership to the Jury,
·            be able to provide a risk management assessment for a race site, and if needed, develop an effective Risk Management plan, and
·            be appointed by CCBC.

A TA can oversee the BC Winter Games, the BC Midget Championships or provincially sanctioned loppets.
