Telemark Nordic Club welcomes Mike Edwards to new General Manager position

The Board of Directors of Telemark Nordic would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mike Edwards to the new full time General Manager position. Mike will commence his role effective September 4st, 2018. The Board would also like to acknowledge the caliber of the other candidates who competed for the position.

Mike has been working and volunteering in the sport of cross-country skiing for the past twenty-eight years. Throughout his career, Mike has achieved results in club and program development, event management, officiating, facilities management and sport administration.

For the past seven years, Mike was the High Performance Administrative Director for Para Nordic programs at Cross Country Canada. Prior to that, Mike was the Assistant Operations Manager and Cross-Country Skiing Chief of Course for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Mike is also no stranger to the Okanagan: he was the Operations Manager at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre during a period of significant growth in membership between 2000-2007.

As the Telemark Nordic Ski Club General Manager, Mike will have the opportunity to apply his varied skill, experience and passion to help foster the growth of Telemark’s programs, facilities and membership.

Over the next couple of months, the board of directors and volunteer base will be working closely with Mike to successfully transition him to the new General Manager role.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Mike and his family—wife Natalie, and sons Mackenzie (age 10) and Evan (age 12), to our Telemark community.
